We've Got Tile Now....the house is really coming along!!

This is the entry way

Living room side of the fireplace. We have a double sided fireplace in our house. The tile turned out really nice.

The dining room side of the fireplace. We got tile in the kitchen so the tile blends nicely with the tile floor.

Our Kitchen pretty much done. It will look much nicer when its clean. :)

Master bathroom, almost done. They are going to add a shower door as well.

Front of the house is coming along as well. They have put the stone in and the front light as well as the patio. Now we are wondering what the color will be.

Stay tuned....I think we will have carpet by the weekend!!

Finally more updates to our Blog! May 3, 2006
This is the front of our townhouse. We have a small patio and as you can see in the upper right corner, they are building our neighbors house.

They finally put in the railings at the top of the stairs. It will be this color, just finished. Some houses have them painted, but we liked the way it looks natural and figured why pay for them to paint. I was relieved that the bars are close together. For those of you who know Ginger, she would attempt to get through and stand on the otherside where it is open to the bottom. She has no fear whatsoever.
The next two pictures after the railing are showing the cabinets in the masterbath and hall bathroom. We got the same cabinets throughout the house.

Our kitchen! Thank God for a lot of cabinet space. Our apartment was maybe a third of this space. We chose light maple cabinets.

Stay tuned for the next set of pictures. They said next is painting, then countertops and tiling, carpet...its coming along!! Only 43 days until closing........

Tape, Putty & front patio additions - April 15, 2006

Yesterday I went with my friend Hildie to show her the house since she was in town from California. Since she is my first girlfriend who saw the house, I took a picture of her near the garage. We also took a few pictures of the view from the side of our house.

Today Ad
am went to the townhouse and he took a few pictures of the inside of the house and also the front of the house where they added the form for the patio.

The next step will be the cabinets throughout the house. Stay tuned until next week.....

We Have WALLS! April 9, 2006

Today we went to our house to make sure they fixed something that wasn't included in the open wall inspection and when we walked in, all of the dry wall was placed. It was neat to see the rooms formed. The homes in the front of our house are also starting to form and we are seeing how much open space we have. Below are pictures Adam took on our visit today.

The picture on the left is of our living room and the door on the left is the bathroom. The doorway going towards the back of the fireplace is the kitchen.

This is our kitchen. The cut out is our pantry - for those of you that have seen our pantry, you know this is a great size for us!! The wall in the middle of the floor is the island. Those boxes are the tape and putty to finish the walls which they will work on this week.

This is the
master bedroom

This is the entryway of the house

(below) Adam outside of our garage. Behind him you can see that they put cement to block off the street. There will be grass on that side.

Update on the New House - April 4, 2006

Last Friday, March 31 we went to our house and did the open wall inspection. This basically is where we make sure all of our wiring is correct before they cover it up. We didn't take any pictures on this visit since there really isn't anything different to see. They are going to start the drywall in our house and so we can't go to the house for about 2 to 3 weeks. When we do at the end of the month though we will take pictures! May and June will be very exciting months to check out the blog because after the drywall is in they will paint, put in the cabinets, floor, counter tops and so on. Check back at the end of April!

WARNING - What you are about to see is terribly exciting...........

So you probably had the same reaction that I did. :) And your probably wondering what this is? I have no idea. Adam was a lot more excited than I was and took all of these pictures. It looks like a light switch box of some sort.

This is our view from the kitchen window. You can't see anything because it was snowing that day, but if you look to the left you can see part of Castle Rock. The house behind us has gone up now so we really can see what our view is.

Our fireplace was installed. This was pretty exciting to see.

And....they also installed the garage door.

When we went to see our house I wandered over to a bunch of houses that are almost completed. They are just on the other side of the houses behind us. I peaked in to one just like ours and it looked so neat to see a finished one unlike the model. Now we are even more excited about our house! We decided that we will not go to our house for a couple of weeks so we can see more of a difference next time we go. So plan on coming back to visit at least the second week in April.

March 12 - Now we have Bathtubs?

It was a snowy and cold day when we went to see the house on Sunday. They had been working more on the outside of the house by the upstairs window. Then we went in the house and in our living room, our fireplace was sitting there in the box. They have worked on all of the plumming as well.

Then I went up the stairs and sitting in the hall bath was.....a bathtub? This house has taught me a lot about the building process. Adam told me that they put the bathtubs in at this stage because how would they fit it through the door? Well then it made sense, but our house looks so funny. It is all framed and then two bathtubs and the master bath shower is installed.

.....more snowy pictures to come, it is supposed to snow on Sunday and Monday here in the Denver area.

WINDOWS, DOORS AND SIDING, OH MY!!

We were so surprised to see the progress in one week! It was a nice, warm day when we went to see our house. Only a few inside changes, but what a difference on the outside. And also, we are required to wear hard hats when we go to the house due to construction, so no worries I have not added hard hats to my clothing attire.

This is the back of the house. Above the garage, the small window is our kitchen window, the larger one is the dining room. The other large window above is the master bedroom window and the tiny one in the corner (left) is the bathroom window over the bathtub in the master bathroom. Just to give you an idea on layout.

Adam calls this picture the "neighbors hole". He is referring to the townhomes that will be in front of us. Fortunately for us, as you can see in the picture, the hole is not in front of us so we will have a great view in the front of our house (where the patio is) and essentially a front yard for Ginger!

Standing in our living room and looking at the front door and the stairs going up. This house has a lot of large windows, including the small windows in the front of the house that you can see.

This is the frame to our master bathtub. I was surprised to see that they put this frame in already, but I guess when you think about it, it makes sense.

The last addition since our last trip to see the house was the stairs going from the storage/basement to the first floor.
Our House is up! This picture was taken on February 26th. We were able to walk through and see our house from the inside. See more pictures below.

This is our kitchen standing in the dining room. The middle square piece standing up in the beginning of the island, I'm assuming. The kitchen in this model is one of the best parts of this house. Of course since Adam & I love to cook and entertain, this will be great for parties.

This is our living room standing at the front door and looking towards the back of the house. Behind the hole (fireplace) is the dining room.

This is our view from the powder room window downstairs. We will always have this view due to nothing being built on the right side of us.

This room is our 2nd bedroom/office.

The master bedroom. It looks out to the back of the house, unfortunately we will have someone right behind us, so a view won't exist (see below). At least we will have a side view from the master bedroom similar to the one from the powder room.

Blog for New Townhouse Pictures

We have been sending all of you pictures of our house in progress and at times there have been so many pictures, we figure it is best to have a central location where you can see the progress. So this is the central place for pictures here on out.

This was our lot January 14 before we won the lottery to get this particular house (left)

The foundation has been put in at this point and you can see all of our neighbors, not including the ones behind us.
Below the framing was started.
